[The original IBM PC was released in September, 1981. It cost $3,000, had an Intel 8088 CPU running at 4.77MHz, came with 16Kb of RAM, had a single 160Kb 5.25 inch floppy disk drive, no hard drive, and a 80x24 text display. Apple Computer had few models with similarly limited abilities.]
